As a partnership between Ames Parks & Recreation, Heartland of Story County, and Mary Greeley Medical Center, Sixty Forward connects those 60+ in Ames and throughout Story County to shared facilities and a wide range of programming that supports a physically active, socially vibrant, and healthy life.

A wide variety of classes, leagues, and lessons for those 60+ to be active. From Pickleball at Inis Grove Park to fitness classes at the Sixty Forward Center to water walking at Furman Aquatic Center, there’s something for everyone and every activity level.

Activities and events at Sixty Forward make it easy to build relationships with others. From joining a club, to having a cup of coffee at The Bistro to finding volunteer opportunities, friendships will thrive.

Sixty Forward connects individuals and families to a variety of health services for daily living. From Meals on Wheels to the Adult Day Center to a variety of support groups, vital resources for living independently are available.

The Sixty Forward Center

The Sixty Forward Center is located at 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames and serves as the headquarters for Sixty Forward and the offices of Heartland of Story County.

The Center has a bright and airy atrium for gathering, state-of-the-art strength/cardio equipment, Duckpin Bowling, multipurpose rooms, and an Adult Day Center.

The Sixty Forward Center is also home to The Bistro, a relaxing and fun place to gather with friends for a beverage and to enjoy great food.
