Duckpin Bowling Group
This six-week league is designed for adults ages 60+, offering a fun and social way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy some friendly competition.
Teams of two will be scheduled to play two games each Thursday afternoon between 2:00-6:00pm at Sixty Forward. Please register individually. If you already have a partner, simply include their name during registration. If not, we’re happy to match you with a teammate.

Ames Parks and Recreation is excited to host our fourth Duckpin Bowling League at the Sixty Forward Center! This six-week league is for adults aged 60+, offering a fun way to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy some friendly competition. Pre-Registration Window: March 12- March 24

  • Registration: Please register as an individual and indicate a preferred partner if you have one. If not, we’ll happily match you with another participant.
  • Teams: 2–3 players (Depending on registration numbers)
  • Game Play: Two games each Thursday between 2–6 p.m.
  • Spring League Dates: March 26- April 30
  • Price per League: $50 residents · $55 non-residents

  • Game Play: Two games each Wednesday between 2–5 p.m.
  • Winter League Dates: January 21–February 25
  • Price per League: $42 residents · $47 non-residents

Duckpin Bowling Intro Clinic

 

Discover the unique charm of duckpin bowling in this introductory program designed to teach you everything you need to know before you join a league or play casually with friends. We’ll begin with an informative session that explores the history of duckpin bowling, explains the rules of the game, and shares helpful tips and techniques to improve your skills.

After the overview, you’ll get plenty of hands-on experience on the new duckpin lanes. This is a great opportunity to practice, ask questions, and learn the quirks that make duckpin bowling so much fun. Whether you’re completely new to bowling or just curious about this exciting variation, you’ll leave feeling confident and ready to play.
