Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is a program offering free, quality tax preparation. ISU and United Way of Story County are partnering to offer this service at several locations in Story County from February through April. Learn more about who qualifies and how to schedule your appointment.

Hobby Happenings: Behind the Scenes of the Senior Variety Show

The Senior Variety Show has been a beloved community tradition since 1995.  Come learn of its many social/health benefits as people engage in the areas of song, dance and humor. Hear about the show’s history which began at Heartland and be entertained by some of our community’s talented performers such as Beth Clarke, Tim Berry, Rick Exner, and more.  You might even consider being in our next show!

Caregiver Support Group

Laurie Yocum Whipple, Director of Heartland’s Adult Day Center, will facilitate group discussions about the challenges of caregiving to individuals with dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s, and other cognitive challenges.  Information about resources, support services, and helpful tips in caring for individuals will be shared.
The Caregiver Support group provides encouragement, active listening, and information for caregivers wanting a safe place to discuss the stress related to caregiving, as well as celebrate the rewards.

Dates: 2nd Wednesdays of each month; beginning January 8, 2025
Time: 2 to 3 PM
Location: Bannitt, Milleman, Shierholz Conference Room at the Sixty Forward Center
