Topics to be covered include: what exactly is AI, understanding the technology in layman’s terms, current & future effects of AI across industries, “Data breach, Deepfake niche, Scams increase, oh my”, navigating cyber security risks with AI tools, and leveraging AI for personal use.
Welch Ave. Fire Station #2 Relocation Project
Please attend a brief presentation by Ames Fire Chief Rich Higgins about plans to relocate Fire Station #2, currently at 132 Welch Ave., to a new fire station to be built at 601 State Ave. The $10.5 million project would be funded through property taxes and require voter approval. The measure will be on the ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Chief Higgins will provide an overview of the project with time for questions and comments.

In partnership with The Octagon and The Boys and Girls club, join professional illustrator Time Read for a one-of-a-kind live art experience that blends creativity, humor, and audience fun! Participants will draw along to Tim’s playful prompts while engaging in silly, interactive challenges that spark imagination and laughter. No art experience is required-just bring your sense of humor and willingness to doodle outside the lines. This energetic program turns drawing into a shred adventure, where every sketch is part of the fun. This program is a partnership activity with the Boys and Girls Club. We are looking for 9 adults to join the children for this fun activity.
